Indian Americans Presence Increases in Public Service Positions

Forbes recently published an article on Indian Americans and their unprecedented growth in the public sector.  Surprisingly listed in the article, is that “indian americans are approximately 1% of the US population.”  Given how much the indian population has grown in American since I was a kid, I was sure that we made up a higher percentage of the U.S. population!  It is truly amazing to see how far we have come in the past few generations, flourishing in industries outside of the typical technology, medical, and engineering fields.  Indian Americans have now also infiltrated the entertainment industry, and it so uplifting and enlightening to know that future generations will grow up to see people who look like them on TV or in the movies.  I remember that feeling back in high school when I first saw Parminder Nagra star in “Bend It Like Beckham.”
